Alisha completed her law degree and
Solicitors finals whilst working full time as a Magistrates Court Clerk. She
began work at the CPS in 2003 as a Senior Crown Prosecutor having been a
criminal defence solicitor for three years. In 2004 she became the lead
specialist prosecutor on British Transport Police prosecutions and set up a
pre-charge advice scheme with the North East British Transport Police which was
adopted across all BTP forces. In 2006 Alisha became the Anti-Social
Behaviour Specialist for West and North Yorkshire CPS and was part of a team of
specialists across the UK that advised the Home Office on tackling anti-social
behaviour. She helped to draft legislation and procedures on tackling
anti-social behaviour and the sentencing guidelines for breaches of orders. In
2010 Alisha became a Higher Court Advocate and joined the Crown Advocate team
prosecuting all cases in the Crown court including serious assaults,
burglaries, robberies, child abuse, drugs and a number of high profile murders
with leading Counsel. In 2015 Alisha transferred to the Bar and is now
practising as an in house Barrister at the Crown Prosecution Service.
Alisha loves Formula 1 and has been
to a number of races at Silverstone, Monza and Monaco and hopes to attend many
more races across the world in the future. She is also a season ticket holder
at Huddersfield Town football club and loves taking her 9 year old son to
matches (despite them often losing)
